This is not soap related. We could have a Mother’s Day game perhaps but I’m leaning toward a little diversion for Mother’s Day from one of today’s funniest puppeteers (not for children). Jeff Dunham is a funny man; perhaps funnier is one of his sidekick puppets, Peanut. It looks like they have some holiday greetings just for us mommies.

If you like Jeff Dunham and can get out of the house visit StubHub for dates and tickets. Otherwise if you can’t and want some evening entertainment for family and friends. Check out a Jeff Dunham DVD or two.

Meanwhile every other site in the www is talking about the announcement of April 1st that Guiding Light will be cancelled, of course with the note “this is not an April Fool’s Day joke.” Thanks for that, as all the bloggers put the pause on to see if it was.

Well, guess it wasn’t, and if that wasn’t bad enough for Guiding Light fans alone, soapcentral .com leaves us running scared at the fate of our personal favorite soap operas.

“Last week dealt a crushing blow to millions of soap opera fans. The cancellation of Guiding Light, a soap opera that’s been around longer than broadcast television, wasn’t just devastating to fans of the 72-year-old program. No, fans of all soap operas were faced with their own favorite soap’s mortality.”

I won’t hang the RIP Guiding Light sign on the door just yet, we’ll be hopeful and carry a wait and see attitude. If you are a fan, still checkout GuidingLight.net, it is still worth a look see.

Recipe: Strawberry Stripper

Fill a Collins glass with ice. Then add 1 ½ oz. strawberry flavored Schnapps, 1 drop of Cream and 5 oz. of Orange Juice, then stir.

I don’t know about you, but that sounds great and definitely should be served with some chocolate or cake…or chocolate cake…yum.

I’ll try not to be distracted by Ethan and catch more of his drink offerings in the future. Don’t forget to drink responsibly.

Jen’s voice reminds me of another artist whose name escapes me at this moment, but if it comes to me I’ll leave a comment here.

My all time favorite soap opera is General Hospital.

How much is it my favorite, oh it is my favorite soap opera VERY MUCH. So much so I almost don’t know if I can report on it actually in the sense that I’d want to read spoilers…I’m one of those that likes the element of surprise. But if my readers so decide that they want spoilers than I’ll have to give the people what they want.

Setting General Hospital aside or GH if you’d prefer, I used to like Port Charles when it had its brief run. I’m not sure how I feel about General Hospital Night Shift yet and that might be a good thing if they nix it.

So what is your favorite soap? It doesn’t have to be daytime, or even a conventional prime time soap, I consider shows like Dead Like Me a great soap opera story. Really, you should check it out.

I’ve been blogging for Today.com for a year this week at one of the first blogs in their network, BigShoes, A blog for women from all walks of life (you’ll have to visit for celebrations and BigShoes highlights throughout the month of March). Since that time, I’ve added a writing blog, WritelyApplied and this week I’m excited to launch The Inside Soap, a blog on soap operas and TVScape, it’s all TV entertainment.

I had been blogging a while back on a few of my favorite TV shows Monk, Psych, In Plain Sight and Ghost Hunters at another network that wasn’t as successful and lately I’ve been missing entertainment blogging. So I considered my options and thought I didn’t want to lock myself in on one soap opera, TV show or TV network because to be quite honest I never know what next great show I will be watching or wanting to blog on. A girl can only run so many blogs.
