I thought I’d be sharing news of GuidingLight.net, the snazzy new website fans should be checking out, man, I wish there was one of these for all the soaps, I need a little map of Port Charles to put X’s next to each of the GH mob war hits that have taken place and are about to take place, but now Guiding Light has got the cutest little home page.
Meanwhile every other site in the www is talking about the announcement of April 1st that Guiding Light will be cancelled, of course with the note “this is not an April Fool’s Day joke.” Thanks for that, as all the bloggers put the pause on to see if it was.
Well, guess it wasn’t, and if that wasn’t bad enough for Guiding Light fans alone, soapcentral .com leaves us running scared at the fate of our personal favorite soap operas.
“Last week dealt a crushing blow to millions of soap opera fans. The cancellation of Guiding Light, a soap opera that’s been around longer than broadcast television, wasn’t just devastating to fans of the 72-year-old program. No, fans of all soap operas were faced with their own favorite soap’s mortality.”
I won’t hang the RIP Guiding Light sign on the door just yet, we’ll be hopeful and carry a wait and see attitude. If you are a fan, still checkout GuidingLight.net, it is still worth a look see.

Dazzled by Ethan Lovett’s accent and perhaps looks? Maybe not as much as Tracy, but do you think you’d like to get to know him a bit better? Or figure out who he is (has to be Luke’s son, that theory has my vote anyway)? Or perhaps you’d just like the recipe to a few of his drinks. Robin decided to visit the Haunted Star for refreshment while she was running from her baby…boy do I have a rant on that…I digress…what was his drink suggestion for her? That’s right, a Strawberry Stripper, and The Inside Soap has the recipe.
Recipe: Strawberry Stripper
Fill a Collins glass with ice. Then add 1 ½ oz. strawberry flavored Schnapps, 1 drop of Cream and 5 oz. of Orange Juice, then stir.
I don’t know about you, but that sounds great and definitely should be served with some chocolate or cake…or chocolate cake…yum.
I’ll try not to be distracted by Ethan and catch more of his drink offerings in the future. Don’t forget to drink responsibly.

Oh it happened, they’ve consummated that marriage and of course the question on everybody’s mind is not will it last or how soon will Sonny find out that Claudia had something to do with Michael lying in a coma, or better yet, does Sonny still love Kate, no none of that is on anybody’s mind. What is on everybody’s mind is what was that song playing on General Hospital during the love scene? You know you want to know. I admit I wanted to know too.
We’ll The Inside Soap has tracked down the song, “We Keep Trying” written by Rie Sinclair Jayson Belt and Bobby Hartry and the artist singing the beautiful song is Jen Hartry (see update note below). I’ve linked to Bobby Hartry’s MySpace page. The song “We Keep Trying” sung by Jen Hartry from the big Sonny and Claudia moment on General Hospital can be found on Bobby Hartry’s site. Jen’s voice reminds me of another artist whose name escapes me at this moment, but if it comes to me I’ll leave a comment here.
So did you like the fact that Sonny and Claudia are becoming an item or the suspense of when it will all fall apart…or did you just like the song?
*****
Update - Please read the comments to this post as Jen Hartry visited and corrected some of the information we’ve found. Jen IS the artist singing “We Keep Trying” and we thank her for officiating at The Inside Soap.

Missing your favorite shows? Looking forward to a new show or want to check out that latest episode of your friends’ favorite stories? Hey, it’s nice to relate sometimes… Well we added the Soap Schedule page to The Inside Soap for your convenience.
Visit the Soap Schedule for programming times on all three major networks for all eight soaps. (CBS’ Guiding Light, The Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful and As the World Turns; NBC’s Days of Our Lives and ABC’s All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital).
We’ve rounded out the list by including a comprehensive programming schedule for the repeats of the five soaps that SOAPnet airs throughout the week. They do not air CBS’ As the World Turns or Guiding Light.
We hope you never miss a soap, at least not the one you want to miss, and we hope you tune into The Inside Soap for more updates and features.

If you’re a Price is Right fan on top of being a fan of your CBS Soaps you might be interested to know about their themed shows. There are two upcoming shows, one for country music fans on March 9th at 1:00 p.m., and the other for expectant parents on April 8th. The expectant parents show is being advertised as the Ultimate Baby Shower and will of course have all the necessities for bringing home baby. So if you are about to bring home baby and can make a taping on April 8th at 4:00 pm the Price is Right is the place to be.
For you fans that can’t make it, did you know they have a best of DVD of the Price is Right? Or even video games for the Price is Right? I’m not certain if the electronic games for the Price is Right could keep up with the economy but it still might be fun for some hard core fans.
